When set to short range, more data is sent between the speakers. This means that the audio quality is slightly higher than when Long range is selected.
However, there needs to be a near-perfect wireless connection between the speakers in order to send this much data reliably.
To find out if your wireless environment can support the short range setting:
1. Select this setting from the settings menu
2. Wait at least 15 second for the connection to be reset and stabilized
3. Use your system normally for at least 2 minutes.
4. Observe the TANA L-1. The orange LED should be off. If the orange LED is blinking, then this means that there is packet loss, and that the wireless connection is not reliable enough to support the setting.
5. It may be that the orange LED is blinking some days, and not on other days. This can be explained by the fact that the wireless environment is not constant, and is affected by nearly all electrical equipment around your house. Therefore, the "short range" setting may only occasionally have problems.
